Virgin Atlantic is to start a new service from London to the Maldives next winter, becoming the second airline to have a direct flight to the island nation.
The new service from Heathrow will operate thrice weekly starting on October 22 2023 and will go on sale in a couple of weeks’ time. It will be served by its Boeing 787-9, with 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium and 192 Economy seats.
It will join British Airways which have served the Maldives for a number of years during the winter, but it will be turning into an all-year-round service after a growing desire to travel to the archipelago.
