British Virgin Islands
Although not all the islands in the BVI are inhabited, it still retains an air of freedom and exclusivity.
That starts from the very moment you arrive, transferring from the small airport on Tortola by boat or helicopter to your resort, almost like the Maldives. No wonder it’s such a favourite for the rich and famous, and why Richard Branson set his home on the famous Necker Island.
It’s not just a great place to stay on land, but it’s one of the best places in the Caribbean to sail around, stopping off at islands or doing some snorkelling or diving along the way.
