Cities & Short Breaks
If you haven’t the time for a two-week holiday or you just want to get away for a few days, then a City Break might be just the ticket. Do you need a change of scenery or a change of pace? A spa break, perhaps, or the chance to mooch around an unfamiliar place, watch the world go by and just explore some culture.
At TravelTime World, we have the best last-minute breaks to all the popular weekend destinations, like Paris, Rome, Barcelona and New York, or help you branch out on a vast range of less well-trodden paths that could lead you to Dubrovnik, Stockholm or Marrakesh.
Many of these we have travelled personally to over the years with extensive knowledge of Venice, Barcelona – where Ashley has visited 10 times, Prague and Amsterdam. We have also visited Seville, Valencia, Milan, Nice, Dubrovnik, Dublin, Stockholm, Riga, Copenhagen, Brussels and many more…
A surprise romantic weekend away can be priceless. But it needn’t be expensive. A simple cappuccino in a Viennese coffee house is an altogether different experience from a coffee in a UK High Street chain. And it needn’t cost a lot. Low airfares and hotel offers mean that there are plenty of City Break bargains to be had.
For something a little special at Christmas time, why not go to one of the exciting markets all over Europe. Ashley has extensive knowledge having visited over 15 of them over the last few years, and is happy to advise the city right for you!
Each city in Germany has its own specialism or atmosphere, especially at Christmas. Many people head to the most well-known cities of Berlin, Dusseldorf or Cologne, all of which have excellent multiple markets. However, consider some of the smaller cities such as Nuremberg, Leipzig or Dresden for something less touristy.
OPERA & CONCERTS
There are a number of Opera Houses all over Europe – Berlin, Dresden, Barcelona, Verona, Florence just to name a few. A trip to the opera is a cultural experience like no other, all pre-bookable in advance. We can also prebook concert tickets.
Many destinations around Europe have historical significance. Learn more with a guide with excursions to Auschwitz from Krakow, the Parthenon in Athens, the Colosseum in Rome or Mostar from Dubrovnik or Split and the Pyramids in Egypt.
Experience the finest galleries and museums – the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the Louvre in Paris, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the Villa Borghese in Rome, or the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. These are just a few we can prebook so you avoid the queues.
Food & Drink
When travelling, for many food and drink are integral to a great holiday. There are many cities that are synonymous with gastronomy, Port in Porto, Truffles in Italy, Tapas in Spain, and some fantastic restaurants in some of the most stunning locations.
“I have travelled to cities all over Europe, both those which are well favoured by tourists and those a little further off the beaten track. This includes extensive knowledge of Christmas markets all over Germany, Spanish cities and additional stays to create two-centre holidays.” – Ashley Quint
