BEST TIME TO VISIT

You can travel to Thailand for most of the year, but it’s most popular in the winter months. The Andaman side of the country is best to visit at this time, whilst heading east, Koh Samui is best at Easter and the Autumn.

There really is something for everyone, great beaches, wildlife, scenery and culture. Even though you can find mass tourism in parts, there are some experiences you’ll struggle to find anywhere else.

Direct flights are available to Bangkok year-round. There are some charter flights which operate direct into Phuket during the winter, although it’s more popular to use indirect flights through the Middle East to Phuket or Krabi.

Bangkok, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai

Begin your journey with four nights in Thailand’s vibrant capital, Bangkok. You’ll explore some of the city’s most iconic sights, including Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. A visit to a less-touristed floating market and a long-tail boat ride through the city’s klongs reveal a more traditional side of life. There’s also a day trip to Kanchanaburi to see the historic bridge over the River Kwai and ride part of the infamous Death Railway.

Continue your travels north with stops in Sukhothai and Chiang Mai, both rich in culture and history. In Sukhothai, explore ancient temple ruins, then head to Chiang Mai to discover its old town, golden temples, bustling night markets, and perhaps join a Thai cookery class. The final leg takes you to the mountainous landscapes of Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle, where you can opt for an overnight trek through remote hill tribe villages. After a final day for shopping and reflection, you’ll return to Bangkok to catch your flight back to the UK.

Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park, Surin, Khong Jiam, Kong Jian

Begin with three nights in Bangkok, where you’ll explore some of Thailand’s most iconic landmarks, including Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. A day trip takes you west to Samut Songkram to experience the bustling Railway and floating markets. From there, travel north-east to Khao Yai National Park, pausing en route to explore the historic ruins of Ayutthaya. Spend two full days immersed in Thailand’s oldest national park, with opportunities to visit dramatic Khmer temples at Phanom Rung and Phimai.

The journey continues east into rural Isaan with two nights in Surin, known for its rich culture and elephant heritage. Highlights here include a visit to the Elephant Study Centre and a traditional silk-weaving village. Further east in Khong Jiam, you’ll spend time by the Mekong River, taking a sunrise boat ride and exploring the prehistoric cave paintings of Pha Taem National Park. Your adventure begins with three nights in Bangkok, where you’ll explore the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and Wat Pho. A cycling tour through the green oasis of Bang Krachao offers a glimpse of traditional Thai life away from the bustle. From there, head to Khao Yai National Park via the historic city of Ayutthaya. Over three days, you’ll trek through rich jungle landscapes, spotting wildlife and soaking up the region’s natural beauty.

Next, fly north to Chiang Mai for a night in the old Lanna capital, before continuing to Doi Inthanon National Park – home to Thailand’s highest peak – for two days of bird-watching and forest walks. The final leg of your journey takes you south to the coastal town of Hua Hin, a relaxed base for exploring two of Thailand’s top birding destinations: Kaeng Krachan and Khao Sam Roi Yot National Parks. Arriving in Bangkok, you’ll stay at the Ramada Plaza Menam Riverside for three nights, with your time filled by exploring the city’s iconic sites. Visit the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, and cruise along the River of Kings. The following day, explore a floating market and journey to Kanchanaburi to see the River Kwai Bridge and the ‘death railway.’ After a morning at leisure, fly to Sukhothai for two nights to explore the UNESCO-listed Sukhothai Historical Park and nearby Si Satchanalai.

Your journey continues with a scenic drive to Chiang Mai, stopping at temples in Lampang. In Chiang Mai, visit the sacred Doi Suthep temple and a Hmong hill tribe, and enjoy a city tour. A cookery class rounds out your Chiang Mai experience. Then, travel to Chiang Rai for visits to Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Burma, and Laos meet at the confluence of the Mekong and Ruak rivers. A Taste of Thailand

Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Tachasima, Chiang Mai

Arriving in Bangkok, you’ll transfer to your hotel and enjoy a dinner accompanied by a classical Thai dance performance, introducing you to the flavours of Thai cuisine. Over the next few days, explore the city’s cultural highlights, including the Royal Quarter, Wat Pho with the Reclining Buddha, and the Grand Palace. Experience authentic Pad Thai at a local restaurant, and participate in a cookery course, where you’ll learn to prepare traditional dishes using fresh ingredients. Later, sample Bangkok’s street food on a guided tour that takes you on various public transport modes through the city’s diverse districts.

After a visit to Ayutthaya, the former Siamese capital, and a road trip to the Isan region, you’ll immerse yourself in local cuisine, from spicy papaya salad to grilled meats and sticky rice. Explore the ancient Angkorian temple ruins at Phanom Rung, and spend the day in Nakhon Ratchasima before continuing to Chiang Mai by night train. In Chiang Mai, tour the old walled city, savour northern Thai dishes like ‘khao soi’, and join a cookery course focused on northern flavours. Finally, after a morning of leisure, head back to Bangkok for your return flight to the UK.

Khao Sok

City, Jungle and Beach Adventure in Thailand

14 day holiday

Bangkok, Khao Sok, Khao Lak

After flying from the UK to Bangkok, you’ll spend the first few days acclimatising and exploring the city’s highlights. Take guided tours, including visits to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and a traditional longtail boat ride through Bangkok’s backwaters. You’ll also experience various forms of transport, such as tuk-tuks and the Skytrain, before relaxing in the afternoons.

Your journey then takes you south to Khao Sok National Park, where you’ll stay at Anurak Lodge, a community tented camp. Interact with elephants at a local camp, canoe along the Sok River, and explore the stunning landscape of the park by boat. After trekking in the rainforest, head to the coastal resort town of Khao Lak for several days of relaxation by the beach. After enjoying your time at leisure on the coast, you’ll return to Bangkok for your flight back to the UK.
