For the summer of 2023, Aruba will join British Airways’ growing number of Caribbean destinations. The Dutch-Caribbean island, which is only a few miles off the South American coastline is a great destination for all year-round sunshine, being located outside the traditional ‘hurricane belt’.
What you’ll find when you get these are some truly outstanding beaches, which rival anywhere else in the Caribbean (and in some, and more popular cases, better), crystal clear blue sea, and a pleasant constant temperature.
The city of Oranjestad is a mix of Dutch architecture and Latin flair, with many influences visible from its past. There are historical sights and natural wonders like caves – together with an excellent access to marine life.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Aruba enjoys all year round sunshine – pleasantly in the 30’s.
The one-stop flight will take about 11 hours in total, other indirect flights may take longer.
Lazy days on the beach, with a little bit of sightseeing!
HOW TO GET THERE
British Airways is to start a new summer service in 2023, with a one-stop flight to Aruba (you don’t get off the aircraft), otherwise, there are plenty of connecting flight options either with KLM via Amsterdam or through America.
A creole language called Papiamento, Dutch and English
IDEAL TO COMBINE WITH
With lots of flights to America, it’s easy to combine a stay in Aruba with Miami.
