Magari Tours are a new family of hand-crafted, escorted tours that take the travel experience to a new level – providing deeper, immersive and truly authentic adventure.
Magari is about exploring the Mediterranean, starting with Italy more deeply and closely than you can on a conventional escorted tour. Their logo captures this vision, blending images of a seed-blown dandelion with colourful Mediterranean tiles and the tour points of the compass. The result is a symbol that conveys the richness and variety of discoveries guests enjoy when travelling with Magari.
Imagine for a moment the secrets behind the most delicious pasta dish you have ever tasted; olives from local trees, wild mushrooms from nearby forests, and the skills of a local cook. Transfer these principles to tours and you have Magari. Their tours make the most of a region, get beneath its skin and reveal it from the inside rather than the outside, with nothing added or taken away.
We are just one of a handful of specialist travel agencies around the country that have been handpicked to offer these special tours. They can only be booked through a travel agent!
We have been on one of them ourselves and love it, and we know you’ll love it too!

AUTHENTICITY

Magari tours get right down to earth in each destination, each tour is specially timed so you experience every location at its purest, original and uncrowded best, in pleasant and mild weather.
There is a point of focusing less on tourist highlights and more on smaller, lesser-known but enchanting locations; visiting villages and hidden gems often overlooked by conventional, conveyor-belt-style itineraries.
RESPONSIBLE

Each of Magari’s hotels is chosen for being a living, breathing part of the local economy; for employing local people, sourcing from local farmers and suppliers, and promoting eco-friendly practices.
So you can be confident your visit will support the local community and leave a positive impact on wherever you stay.
CULINARY

Food is woven into every region’s culture, so all Magari tours have a strong gastronomic slant. The journeys include fresh hotel breakfasts of seasonal local produce and a generous sprinkling of meals at humble trattorias and family-run eateries.
They also include tastings of wines and other delicacies at farms and agritourism estates and authentic culinary demos by local cooks.
EXPERT

Magari tour leaders are passionate and knowledgeable about their region and know first-hand what makes an escorted tour seamless and special. Their expertise and dedication ensure your time with them is as effortless and enriching as it could be.
In late 2023, I was delighted to be asked to help Tony bring the Magari Tours brand to market, working exclusively with the very best specialist travel agencies in the south of the country.
I loved the concept of the idea from the very moment was started talking, a different kind of escorted tour that focuses on both amazing experiences, and discovering less well-known regions of Italy. To say that I didn’t understand the ‘Magari’ name to start with is a bit of an understatement because I thought it sounded Irish – but having ‘a wish or a desire’ to do a trip like this is truly everything this encapsulates.
Having been on one of Magari’s tours myself, I can say it lives up to the hype. You would never ordinarily go to the Imgana Valley close to Lake Como, but the hotel you stay at with Magari is a fabulous family-run hotel with the most amazing food. The tours you go out on to places such as Bergamo or Lake Iseo are interesting, helped by the wonderful Wendy who is both extremely knowledgeable and a great tour manager.
This really is a lovely company, and you’ll love the unique way in which you will see Italy, it’s magical.
