Mexico
On the surface, Mexico is a great alternative to a holiday on a Caribbean island with some of the region’s best beaches, excellent food and good quality hotel options. However, there is so much more to the country than just nice hotels and beaches, it has one of the oldest and most fascinating histories in the world.
It’s pre-Hispanic civilizations created some of the world’s most treasured monuments including the Mayan temples of Palenque, and the heavily visited Chichen Itza. Instead of just staying in the beach resorts on the Riviera Maya, there many wonderful towns and cities to explore, each vibrant and unique.
