There’s nothing like walking on crisp white snow on the first day of your ski holiday. That crunch underfoot and the clatter of poles, skis and boards is a soundtrack no winter sports enthusiast ever forgets.

Those sharp contrasts of vast blue skies and brilliant white snow. And as for that yin/yang experience of bright hot sun and cold fresh air on your face… Well, it simply can’t be understood by those “beach-only” holidaymakers.

Onto the slopes. A couple of easy ones first and then something more challenging. Soon you’re wowing yourself and vowing to yourself that you’ll do this more often.

Even if you do double blacks, go off-piste or even cut some air on a board, you’ll know there are some risks that are not worth taking. And one of them is booking a winter sports holiday with someone who doesn’t understand your passion.
