Today (Thursday 1 December), we celebrated the news that Tom, our latest work experience student from the Prince’s Trust has completed his course.
Each year, we help the Prince’s Trust with work experience placements for young adults who have had a disadvantaged upbringing or have specific needs. Last year we hosted Colin and his blind dog Sid, understanding the needs of someone in the workplace who is partially sighted and how systems can be adapted for that.
This year we had Tom with us, who suffers from anxiety and is autistic. It was a joy to have him with us for the week, where he learned about the running of a business and the various skills needed to be a travel agent. He was certainly a wizz on the computer by the end of the week!
