One way to think about travelling, is the same way we live at home. The third track from the album ‘Not Leaving A Trace’ explores that theme and our impact on the environment or communities when we travel.
Sometimes we can be guilty of lapsing into another state when we’re abroad, heavy use of single use plastic for example when taking bottled water in hot climates, or forgetting about recycling. These are things we’re slowly being conditioned to do at home, but somehow disappear when we’re out of the country. We should also consider the impact we have on the communities we visit as well – their local laws and customs and be respectful of their way of life. Although life is generally more liberal in the western world, they are countries around the world which are more restrictive and we should be respectful of that when we travel there.
After all, we should leave only footprints…
