You will know by now that we love working with some of the best travel companies around. Not just the big names that we hear about all the time, because they are not always the best, but the smaller independent companies who are the backbone of the travel industry.
We would love to introduce you to Magari Tours, a brand-new tour company offering unique, authentic and responsible holidays initially to Italy starting later this year. Their specially designed ‘escorted tours’ will begin in August, all with a maximum group size of around 25 – we’re not talking large coaches… Their real unique selling point is staying at family-run hotels, there are no chains or big conglomerates here, and you’re staying in the heart of the community. The hotels might not be the most luxurious on offer, but what they do have is character and personality.
I have had the privilege of meeting with Tony over the last six months, advising on the formation of the new operations – everything from their focus on the local community to travellers’ expectations and brochure design. I say a privilege as its ethos is so closely aligned to ours – being independent, supporting local communities, being conscious on the environment, providing unique and memorable experiences, and understanding that when travelling – it’s all about the people.
Before then, I’m going to be testing it out for myself in April.
