Days 2-5
The South Coast
We’ll offer suggestions for where you stop and admire the many waterfalls along your route. At Vatnajokull National Park, you’ll travel in a zodiac boat to a glacier lagoon where you can watch the bergy bits calve off the Vatnajokull ice caps.
Days 6-7
Egilsstaoir
Unwind in the Eastfjords, you might hike to a puffin colony. Nearby Borgafjorour Eystri is said to be home to the queen of Iceland’s elves.
Days 8-9
Lake Myvatn
Surrounded by vast lava fields, you’ll spend your time here hiking through the gaping Asbyrgi canyon and visiting Dettifoss, one of Europe’s most powerful waterfalls. At the end of a long day hiking, you can rest your muscles during a sunset soak in a natural hot spring.
Days 10-13

Explore mossy lava fields, black-sand beaches and the imposing Snaefellsjokull ice cap on Snaefellsnes Peninsula. You can also take a guided tour of Vatnshellir Cave. This ancient lava tube is rife with mythological significance – it’s believed to be the home of the local troll population.
