Join us and Scenic and Emerald Cruises for a one-off special ‘Meet The Expert’ open day at our offices next month. We’ll be joined by our friend and Scenic expert Danny Joel, on hand to talk about anything relating to cruise, expedition of small-ship yacht cruising.
For those who follow this journal religiously will know that the latest Jane McDonald series, which sees her travelling from ‘Pole to Pole’ – Antarctica to the Arctic (the last in the series is today!), was all filmed on either the Scenic Eclipse or the Emerald Sakara – both Scenic ships. So, this is a perfect opportunity to learn more.
Both Scenic and Emerald are part of the same family, Australian-owned and originated out of escorted touring (this sounds very familiar to APT up to now!). Scenic then branched out into River Cruising, with an ultra-luxury offering, which has a high staff-to-guest radio, suites with butler service and premium excursions and extras included.
Still staying on the river, their second brand – Emerald Cruises was launched to capture the ‘premium’ market, with more contemporary ships, a more casual feel onboard and providing excellent value for money on some of the most iconic waterways.
Heading beyond the rivers, Scenic launched the Scenic Eclipse, one of the first ultra-luxury discovery yachts, which is equally at home in the Caribbean as it is in Antarctica. There’s a strong focus on immersive experiences, which ties in with the expedition nature of some of their cruising. Like on river, there is a butler service and it operates an ultra all-inclusive product onboard.
The Emerald discovery yachts are smaller and only operate in warm-water regions. It’s particularly popular in the Mediterranean (as Jane McDonald featured last week), but offering a different experience to a normal cruise, where being small enables it to operate into intimate harbours and coves, more like a standard yacht.
We will be operating an appointment system on the day, so please do reserve your space in advance.
