Crystal Cruises has returned to the spotlight as a reimagined ultra-luxury cruise brand focusing on space, service and sophistication. Now under the ownership of A&K Travel Group, it has retained the hallmarks that made it a favourite among discerning travellers, with excellent service, elegant ships, and interesting itineraries, but with a refreshed, modern approach.

Its two reintroduced ships, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, underwent full-scale refurbishments in 2023, reducing guest capacity and increasing suite sizes to create a more personal, spacious onboard experience. Many suites include a veranda and butler service as standard, and the ships feature a variety of world-class dining venues, including Nobu Matsuhisa’s Umi Uma and the refined Osteria d’Ovidio.

Onboard, there is a balance for those who value luxury but without the formality, a theme we are now seeing in this sphere. Guests can expect a thoughtful enrichment programme, beautifully appointed spa and wellness spaces, and a level of comfort more often associated with boutique hotels than traditional cruise ships.

Crystal’s partnership with Abercrombie & Kent means excursions go beyond the usual sightseeing, offering more immersive and exclusive experiences in each destination. From longer port stays to off-the-beaten-track adventures, Crystal’s itineraries are designed to appeal to well-travelled guests looking for more than just a tick-list cruise.

Looking ahead, the brand is investing significantly in its future. New ocean ships are on order from Fincantieri; all-suite, veranda-only carrying around 690 guests, with the first launching in the next couple of years. The new fleet promises to retain Crystal’s signature style while raising the bar with even more innovation, space and design finesse.
