Day 1: Arrive in Antananarivo
Welcome to Antananarivo, the capital and largest city of Madagascar. You will be greeted by a representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the hotel or explore the nearby attractions. You can also enjoy a welcome dinner at one of the many restaurants in the city. Day 2: Antananarivo
Sightseeing After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Antananarivo, covering both the historical and modern aspects of the city. You will visit the Rova of Antananarivo, a royal palace complex that dates back to the 17th century and offers panoramic views of the city. You will also visit the Andafiavaratra Palace, a former prime minister’s residence that now houses a museum of history and art. After lunch, you will visit the Lemurs’ Park4, a botanical garden where you can see nine species of lemurs in their natural habitat. You will also visit the Analakely Market, where you can shop for local produce, crafts, and souvenirs.
Day 3: Antananarivo to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
Today, you will leave Antananarivo and drive to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, one of the most popular and accessible parks in Madagascar. You will check in to your luxury lodge and have some free time to enjoy the park at your own pace. Some of the luxury lodges you can choose from are Vakona Forest Lodge5, Mantadia Lodge6, or Eulophiella Lodge7. In the evening, you can join a night walk to observe nocturnal creatures such as chameleons, frogs, and mouse lemurs.
Day 4: Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
Sightseeing Today, you will explore more of Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and its surroundings. You will start with a visit to Analamazaotra Reserve, also known as Perinet Reserve, where you can see the largest and most famous lemur in Madagascar, the indri. You will hear their loud calls and watch them jump from tree to tree. You will also see other lemurs such as bamboo lemurs, brown lemurs, and sifakas. After lunch, you will visit Vakona Private Reserve8, where you can see more lemurs on Lemur Island, as well as crocodiles, fossas, and birds.
Day 5: Andasibe-Mantadia National Park to Antsirabe
Today, you will leave Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and drive to Antsirabe, a charming town in the highlands known for its thermal springs and rickshaws. You will check in to your hotel and have some free time to enjoy Antsirabe at your own pace. Some of the luxury hotels you can choose from are Couleur Cafe9, Royal Palace Hotel10, or Plumeria Hotel11. In the evening, you can take a rickshaw ride around the town or relax at your hotel.
Day 6: Antsirabe Sightseeing
Today, you will enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Antsirabe and its surroundings. You will start with a visit to Lac Tritriva, a volcanic lake with turquoise water and a legend of star-crossed lovers. You will also visit Lac Andraikiba, another lake where you can enjoy boating or fishing. After lunch, you will visit some of the local workshops that produce handicrafts such as zebu horns, embroidery, gemstones, and mini rickshaws. You will also visit the Cathedral of Antsirabe, a Gothic-style church that is one of the largest in Madagascar.
Day 7: Antsirabe to Ranomafana National Park
Today, you will leave Antsirabe and drive to Ranomafana National Park, one of the most biodiverse and scenic parks in Madagascar. You will check in to your luxury lodge and have some free time to enjoy the park at your own pace. Some of the luxury lodges you can choose from are Setam Lodge12, Centrest Sejour13, or Thermal Hotel14. In the evening, you can join a night walk to observe nocturnal creatures such as mouse lemurs, chameleons, frogs, and insects.
Day 8: Ranomafana National Park Sightseeing
Today, you will explore more of Ranomafana National Park and its surroundings. You will start with a visit to the park’s headquarters, where you can learn about the history and conservation of the park. You will also visit the Centre ValBio Research Station15, where you can see some of the research projects and educational programs that are conducted in the park. After lunch, you will join a guided hike through the rainforest, where you can see various lemurs such as golden bamboo lemurs, red-bellied lemurs, and Milne-Edwards’ sifakas. You will also see other wildlife such as birds, reptiles, and plants.
Day 9: Ranomafana National Park to Isalo National Park
Today, you will leave Ranomafana National Park and drive to Isalo National Park, one of the most visited and spectacular parks in Madagascar. You will check in to your luxury lodge and have some free time to enjoy the park at your own pace. Some of the luxury lodges you can choose from are Isalo Rock Lodge16, Relais de la Reine, or Jardin du Roy. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset over the sandstone formations that give the park its unique landscape.
Day 10: Isalo National Park Sightseeing
Today, you will enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Isalo National Park and its surroundings. You will start with a visit to the Canyon des Singes, a deep canyon where you can see ring-tailed lemurs and white sifakas. You will also visit the Piscine Naturelle, a natural pool with clear water and lush vegetation. After lunch, you will visit the Canyon des Rats, another canyon where you can see brown lemurs and giant rats. You will also visit the Fenetre de l’Isalo, a natural window in the rocks that offers a stunning view of the sunset.
Day 11: Isalo National Park to Ifaty
Today, you will leave Isalo National Park and drive to Ifaty, a seaside resort on the southwest coast of Madagascar. You will check in to your luxury hotel and have some free time to enjoy Ifaty at your own pace. Some of the luxury hotels you can choose from are Dunes d’Ifaty, Hotel La Mira de Madiorano, or Hotel Paradisier. In the evening, you can relax on the beach or enjoy some water sports such as snorkelling, diving, or surfing.
Day 12: Ifaty Sightseeing
Today, you will explore more of Ifaty and its surroundings. You can choose from a variety of optional activities, such as taking a boat trip to see the coral reef and the marine life that inhabits it. You can also take a 4WD tour to visit the Reniala Reserve, where you can see baobab trees, birds, reptiles, and plants. Alternatively, you can visit some of the local villages and learn about their culture and traditions.
Day 13: Ifaty to Antananarivo
Today, you will leave Ifaty and fly back to Antananarivo, where you will spend the last night of your holiday. You can enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, relaxing at your hotel or exploring more of Antananarivo.
Day 14: Depart from Antananarivo
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. You will take with you many memories and experiences from your holiday to Madagascar.
