It feels that they have been on somewhat of a meteoric rise over the last 10 years, but Jet2 has just announced possibly one of the most important base announcements in its history – it’s to start flying its own services from Gatwick from next summer.
This year we had Jet2 operating a limited programme from Luton, with the usual classics to the Canaries, Balearics and Greece – and the new small base at Gatwick will replicate that with six aircraft based there during the peak season.
