In Cyprus, Europe, Hotels

After the four hour flight from London, there is nothing better than jumping straight into your own private transfer straight to your hotel. Not that Paphos is actually that far away from the airport, but is still a lovely way to arrive.

When ready to check-in at the Asimina Suites, you have your own private reception together with Champagne and canapes, with your bags being taken directly to your room. Just as you would expect from a 5* adult only hotel.

There is a bottle of ‘something chilled’ awaiting you in your room, which again is a lovely touch. It was a really impressive start to the stay.

Something you instantly notice is how lovely and hospitable the staff are, and it was great to see that during our time there they remembered what we liked to drink (even if we couldn’t remember ourselves)!  That extends to the Concierge who helped us with the UK entry forms when we came home, and the usual situation of calling for a taxi when heading into Paphos town.

The hotel was spotless, the pool was really well maintained and the gardens immaculate. The rooms were fantastic, with towels changed every day – including the unusual step of putting beach towels in the room, instead of collecting them by the pool.

A big part of a holiday for many is the food, and it was excellent – although, with the current restrictions, the choice was sometimes quite limited. There are also plenty of eating options in Paphos Harbour, which is only a short taxi ride away.

This is a great hotel for lounging by the pool and going to the excellent spa, combined with being near the sea and points of interesting nearby if you wanted to go out for the day.
