In Italy

Hot on the heels of Italian up-start AeroItalia, British Airways is to launch its own service from London Heathrow direct to the Tuscan city of Florence next summer.

Starting just after the Easter holidays on 16 April, the flight will operate from Heathrow’s Terminal 5 daily, right into the heart of Florence. British Airways have operated a service from London City for a number of years to Florence, but the more conventional routes over the years have been to the nearby cities of Pisa and Bologna, both of which have great train links to the city.

It will be an excellent addition for city breaks, especially in May when we have multiple bank holidays and for family holidays during the summer.

The times of the new service are also really good for long weekends, with the same time everyday:

London Heathrow 0750 – Florence 1100
Florence – London Heathrow 1310
