Explora Journeys is preparing to take its luxury travel experience from the ocean to Europe’s rivers, with the brand signing a Letter of Intent with Dutch shipbuilder Den Breejen Shipyard for the construction of its first river ships.
Since launching, Explora Journeys has set out to offer a different take on ocean travel, built around its Ocean State of Mind philosophy. European design, understated luxury and the freedom to travel at sea sit at the heart of the brand, and the next step will be to bring this thinking to some of Europe’s most iconic waterways.
The move into river cruising is an exciting development for the relatively young brand, opening up the possibility of exploring Europe’s great cities and landscapes from a much smaller ship, while retaining the style and service for which Explora Journeys is becoming known for.
There is still plenty to be revealed, with details of the ships, onboard experiences, itineraries and delivery dates expected in due course. Sales are currently planned to open in 2027, giving you another way to experience Explora Journeys, this time from the heart of Europe rather than out at sea.
