As winter begins to set in, leaves falling and as I set about those clearing garden jobs, my mind starts to wander and contemplate the winter skin holidays ahead. This year hopefully will be no different with the exciting news of the rollout plans for the vaccine and the potential for life to go back to some kind of ‘normal’ in 2021. Currently, the French Alpine resorts are scheduled to open in early January once the lockdown in France ends, fingers crossed.
So why do I love skiing holidays and how can I encourage our clients to give it a try? Winter sports holidays are like no other holiday, its not just about the sporting activity, it’s about the whole package from start to finish. The amazing scenery as you make your way up the windy roads from the airport through the mountains, the quaint alpine villages all lit up and decorated, the mountain lunches and those cosy evenings in front of the log fires. It’s so invigorating being in the pure clear mountain air, surrounded by white snow-covered mountains with a backdrop of bright blue skies.
Skiing is just one of the mountain activities, there is now a winter activity to suit every age and ability, from cross country skiing, telemarking, snowboarding, snowshoeing and tobogganing. Alternatively just walking through the quaint village, doing a little shopping and stopping for a coffee or hot chocolate with the whipped cream topping!
Can I not tempt you to try it?
