In Italy

New Italian airline, AeroItalia is to start a new service next month, which is linking London’s Heathrow airport to Florence for the first time.

Having just announced the first-ever service from Milan’s third airport, Bergamo to Heathrow; the new Italian airport has set its sights on another unserved airport into one of the busiest airports in Europe. Florence is such a beautiful city, which is the gateway to the entire Tuscany region but is more commonly accessed either by flying to Pisa or Bologna and then getting the train (although that too is an excellent way of getting there).

The new service starts on Boxing Day (26 December), initially with five services a week on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The flight times are:

Florence 1130 – London Heathrow 1235
London Heathrow 1325 – Florence 1630
