This afternoon Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced the long-awaited ‘green list’ countries, which include the popular destinations of Portugal and Iceland.
These are countries which have low Covid-19 levels and have an advanced vaccination programme, which have been approved by the UK government. As a result of going onto the Green List, it will mean no requirement to quarantine when returning into the UK – although you do need to get a test (which can be either a lateral flow test or PCR test – but you must have a certificate), and another PCR test within 2 days of returning to the UK.
The notable countries on the list include – Portugal, Iceland, Israel, Gibraltar, Faroe Islands and Australia / New Zealand (even though we can’t travel there).
We’re going to look at all the restrictions and update on Saturday morning – and next Saturday we’re holding a Q&A session on You Tube to answer any burning questions.
