I’m absolutely delighted to say that I’ve been nominated for the ‘Champion of Change’ award at this year’s ATAS (Association of Adventure and Touring Suppliers) Awards, which are due to take place in September.
Unlike many of the awards for agents in the travel industry, it wasn’t self-nominating, so someone has nominated me, which is extremely heartening to know and lovely. Thank you to whoever nominated me!
We don’t do this for the awards, we do it because we want to improve our help improve our collective impact. Whether that’s an improvement in animal welfare, having a more positive impact on the destinations we visit, helping preserve culture and communities’ way of life, doing what we can to improve our impact on the environment or supporting those very themes in our own country.
What’s even more heartening, two other close agent friends who are founding members of our newly launched Responsible Travel Advisor Collective have also been nominated, showing that our collaborative approach to responsible travel gives weight to what we are doing individually. To be recognised within the industry for what we do is just a bonus.
