For us in Berkhamsted, we don’t often think of Birmingham Airport when we travel, it’s more usual to think of Luton, Stansted, Gatwick or Heathrow – the major London airports. Although they are geographically close, none of them are the easiest to get to on public transport. There isn’t a National Express bus anymore from Hemel Hempstead to Luton Airport, Stansted isn’t easy to get to on the train, and Heathrow is easiest on the bus from Hemel. Instead, Birmingham Airport is the only airport from Berkhamsted that you can get to directly on public transport – and in the era of us being encouraged to reduce our carbon emissions, one of the greenest too.
Next Summer easyJet is launching a new base in Birmingham, with some of these being able to be booked as packages already. Although it’s not always practical to get there early in the morning (just as you can’t really get to Gatwick in time for a 9am flight), it’s worth throwing into the mix as an alternative, especially if you don’t mind getting the train.
As part of easyJet’s expansion, they will now have services to:
?? Alicante
?? Barcelona
?? Berlin
?? Corfu
?? Dalaman
?? Enfidha (Tunisia)
?? Heraklion
?? Jersey
?? Kos
?? Larnaca
?? Malaga
?? Rhodes
?? Sharm El Sheikh
?? Tenerife South
