Highlights of Bangkok
Our Favourite Hotels in Bangkok

Anantara Bangkok Riverside
The Anantara Bangkok is a unique hotel, unlike any other in the city. It’s nestled in 11 acres of beautiful gardens, a peaceful retreat amidst the city’s chaos. And guess what? Many of the 407 rooms offer stunning views of the river! The Anantara is located on the Thonburi side of the river, so you can see the breathtaking city skyline. Plus, they have a free shuttle boat that takes you to the city side at Sathorn. You’ll find plenty of dining options, including a converted rice barge that offers river cruises, an Anantara Spa, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, and even tennis courts in the lush gardens.

Mandarin Oriental
The ‘MOBKK’ is widely regarded as the world’s best hotel. It has the highest staff-to-guest ratio of any five-star hotel (3:1) and was the first grand hotel ever opened in Asia. Former guests include Somerset Maugham, Noel Coward, Audrey Hepburn, the British Royals, several American presidents, and the Beckhams. They’ve all admired the views over the Chao Phraya from its beautifully decorated suites. The original, double-story 19th-century ‘Authors Wing’ was recently upgraded, but it still has its historic charm. The decor is elegant without being flashy, and the service is impeccable.

The Landmark
We’ve Stayed Here
Nestled on the trendy Sukhumvit Road in the heart of Bangkok, the Landmark hotel has become famous for its great value and friendly Thai service. Just step outside and you’ll find bars, restaurants, markets, and shops everywhere. And the nearby skytrain station makes it easy to visit all the city’s attractions. They even have a lot of fun things to do and a traditional British pub if you miss home!
Bangkok is both a crazy city, and one where you can find peace and quiet within all of the madness going on around you. Although it was quite a few years ago, no more did you feel this than at the Sukhothai Hotel – at the time it had Bangkok’s biggest swimming pool and it was great to sit there having breakfast outside after a long flight without feeling you were in a big city.
There is a lot you can do though, of course visiting the markets are popular and so are trips on the river (even though party boats have now become a thing in the city) and the amazing shopping options on Sukhumvit Road. You must also visit the Grand Palace – as once again it has to be seen to be believed.
